GM001 → Prologue
‘Prologue’ was a wall-based installation comprised of 6 photographs, one by each member of the group. Each image was split into 16 parts and printed on A4 sheets, they were then layered and pinned on top of one another in a grid. Sheets were removed irregularly over the course of the exhibition so that the piece evolved, revealing layers below and creating new unforseen compositions. The selection of images echoed the various surfaces found throughout Lewisham Art House, suggesting the passing of time dating back to when the building was a library. The images were also printed and bound as a book which was shown alongside.
